PRAISE  LIGHT

Long time before, I used to think about light and life as two different entities.  Never have I  believed that somewhere they would  merge like rivers and  waterfalls would do.  But, watching more closely our beautiful world, I become convinced that fireflies, glowing algae and fishes, as well incandescent beaches and plains at dusk, all of the luminescent things and living beings belong to the same source of life.

How do light and life express themselves  at the same time is something obvious but still non understood. In his historical novel, Salammbo, the French writer Gustave Flaubert observed how excited the horses of general  Amilcar, Hannibal’s father, were when the morning  sun showed  up at the Mediterranean horizon. Even, crops, flowers, plants begun to participate in the coming light. The same way, Honore de Balzac, another French, described how much  May celebrated in the prairies the feast of sun. Later on, as science explained more precisely what light is, the notion of photon starts becoming more and more familiar. It is the magic of photon, this tiny pocket of light, and the main unit of the so-called traveling energy that is at the core of these celebrations whether in the French novels or within  insignificant living beings  some of them  with a kind of bioluminescence in their  eyes and bodies  or the flames dancing on the beaches with carbon disintegration.

Unfortunately at the same time, I also used to observe how light was vanishing into the otherwise lively things and  in the eyes of the dying patients.  By heralding the nearing death, I understand that life is part of this vanishing process.  “Close the window, it’s too beautiful” an agonizing VIP has been shouting. Light as the other side of life must to be amazing! In fact, leaving this world recalls the dying candles; and I become acquainted with the medical practice and other experience of peoples who seem to read how much life is left  into the eyes of their patients and visitors.

Going further, and thanks to a better understanding of light and its counterparts, I start  immersing myself in light study and light celebration. Every morning is like a blessing, every twilight is still a promise of   the renewal of light. Light is called energy and is so considered, lying at the core of everything on earth, especially about what we know on biological clocks. Now, supporting a lot of hypothesis,  light  is part of  life and vice versa. Surely, photosynthesis means how plants feed themselves with light. But, the same goes for human beings, thanks to a kind of human photosynthesis revolving around carbon and oxygen.

Some researchers think what we eat is just some condensed light. The more we eat natural food, the better we live. Our skin, our intern organs, our eyes, and the tree we see, the color we enjoy in summer or spring, everything is  based on a light feeding process. Because light brings us the news of the universe or reveals what is into, we end up understand what we call life would be not allowed without the sun, a still worshiped god as in the high Mexican plateaus, for instance.

Nowadays we can  understand why so many peoples  are back to what we tend to call  a solar cult by saying Good Morning to sunlight.
