Their stories are unique back to Columbus times. Still today, a Haitian family keep this tradition. But to know more about this untold art, you have to climb up to the mountains nearby Morisseau in L'Azile countryside, You would be amazed by filling them up by the bottom!
A famous now retired social worker that used to be involved in sociology research in Haiti still has in Hyde Park, Boston, where she lives, two or three samples at home. An African visitor has tried to buy them. " I can't" told Ms Martin Adolphe who then was offered one thousand dollars each. " I'm not sure I could buy them back", Ms Adlophe said. She has been for long working in anthropology studies.

There exists no more places where to find out these items in Haiti. One still thought that around Morne Laselle where Indian traditions survive there are some jugs, but not alike. Lazile countryside so far is said to have the monopoly of this handcrafted jug.
At the beginning of Nippes lie sea-bathed towns such as Miragoane, Anse A Veau and Pte Riviere de Nippes. Far away Pestel, Jeremie open the remote Gde Anse and the rest. but, it seems that these special jugs remain special to this mountainous countryside locked up between Aquin and Nippes...
But, so far, a few have heard about those unique jugs. I was said the land which they come from has a red painted hue. I've once wished to go there, but unfortunately, I never made it.
