HOLYWOOD TIME

KREYOL WA...

...ONCE AGAIN HOLYWOOD  & CARREFOUR

KREYOL WA

Nobody knows what the future will be especially when you're born in Carrefour, Haiti. But, it's sometimes this kind of birthplace that makes you unique.

Kreyol Wa, in his mid thirties, remembers his childhood along with a beautiful mother as well as his wanderings in Gris Gris, Cotes de fer.  Pushed by the winds of adventures,  Kreyol was fond of football and everything his unwary teenage could go through.  At this time, Carrefour, south Pt-au-Prince, was a neighborhood with  rural look and scents,  and a lot of emptiness, though   filled with middle class people  and seemed able to attract famous and wealthy whether Max Beauvoir, St Hubert or Alexander Abraham, all of them scholars, entrepreneurs and educated voodoo priests with a good standing.  M. Wa enjoyed life playing and going to school, as his parents were looking after him so much. This mixture of adventures, good life and nurturing  neighborhood seals a fate to Kreyol...

Carrefour still is to Haiti a kind of St Tropez that  older peoples used to call la frontera. More than a century ago, Alexandre Petion at Thor-le Volant, and long time before Pauline Leclerc at the famous but  today decayed Habitation Leclerc had had fun by settling there, not far from the sea. Giant trees recall in silence these gone times. However, that was enough to appeal to bright and nostalgic  peoples. Kreyol got his way without knowing why and how neither.

M. Wa studied  a lot to the point to be attempted to reenact this  untamed Carrefour where artists,  ordinary  guys submitted to psychedelic plants live on, fed by unnamed desires and crazy dreams. M. Wa however went his way being about to reinvent himself, what he did going to Holywood, Los Angeles to finally get   his  epiphany. He was turning his 30s.

M. Wa sounds still sad when telling the story of  his delicate childhood, for having attended bad school and shared the life of  heartless people. There are so many misfortunes in the children world in Hait. However, a few years later, M. Wa was graduated  from.... needless to say that he got along with producers, authors and actors, some of them already  famous ,such as Danny Glover, Jimmy Jean Louis, and  Russel Crowe ,the general of Gladiators.  A writer, screen player and movie producer, Kreyol Wa is ready to challenge this field where so many get lost while a few survive. " Movie industry is expansive and time consuming. But it's worth going there, even for history and new generations." K.Wa will go in business." For the best”, he seems to add, with his infectious optimism.
