GLOBE TROTTING...
CLAUDE SAINT ROME
"I am an artist a
painter, love taking pictures of nature, on that field for 50 years now. A
former air traffic controller. I made 3 documentaries on Haiti . I got on book
Port-au-Prince Before and After The Quake Jan 12. Welcome to my page Happy new
year Planet Earth 2013. Enjoy the ride ".
So spoke a Haitian born
photograph Claude Saint Rome about his country.
La Gonave sunset |
A lover of Mother Nature, M.St Rome went everywhere
in the so called Magic Island. Nowhere else, to tell the truth, the landscape
is so miscellaneous . Remember. To Napoleon eager to know what Haiti, then
Saint Domingue, looked like, an officer threw a smashed piece of paper on the
desk. Haiti is all mountains and valleys.
But, there is more than a
worn out land. Here is a golden sunset on la GONAVE.
Bois Jalousie |
While la Gonave at dusk is blazing, St Rome’s camera cannot let us overlook Jalousie nearby Petion
Ville, a kind of slum city. Jalousie is now a kaleidoscope as if artists here were glancing at poverty though paints and a lot of shades of colors. However, Foret
des Pins with its feathers of fog contrast with those crowded places that seem to seal the Port-au
prince’s fate.
Jacmel Bassin Bleu |
Far away from Petion Ville
and Jalousie, it happily happens that Jacmel is still a place to be in. St Rome
displays for our delight Bassin Bleu and the smoky mountains of Dame Marie laid
on Grande Anse’s shores. Dame marie seen
from the Macaya steps offers an unexpected view on the sea.
Dame Marie, the Smoky gun |
Mole St Nicolas |
Obviously, our photograh is
a fan of the sea. Mole St Nicolas, a remote and unknown city in the Far West, has nothing to do apparently with modern life. M. St Rome shoots at its plummeting
into the sea. But this place founded back to Colombus’s arrival in the Americas
continues to show up with a lot of
marble graves back to the French settlement. Mole St Nicolas is a few miles
away from Cuba.

GLOHOLIDAY AND TRAVELHOUSE

BERMUDAS
I do not know how much architecture
hold something still phenomenal. We can watch at this woman side the Bermuda seas and
its turquoise waters. The Caribbean remain unbeatable with regards to tourism. Gloholiday, as a big
travel agency, succeeds at motivating people to reinvent themselves through
travelling and openness to another culture and identities.
ICELAND
Iceland, still a new comer
on the map, given its remoteness, like anything coming from far, has everything
to attract and amaze. TravelhouseUK displays the big spa of Iceland. People said
it is a place where Gengis Khan had been horse riding through..
BOSTWANA
Look at finally the
elephants at the Bostwana Wild life. We think of the famous poem of Leconte de
Lisle, a French writer. He wrote a piece about the time a herd of elephants going
thirsty to the river.
