TANΖANIA -GLOBE TROTTING TIME BY FRANTΖ BATAILLE (.April 2014)

CELESTIN   BKONΖI
 OUR MAN AT DAR-ES-SALAM

APRIL 20, 2014

Le PDG M. Celestin Bkonzi

A
frica, the Black continent, is considered now the wealthiest, however, could Africans barely think about such wealth. What had happened to this blessed and wrecked land, some people keep asking?

Celestin Bkonzi ‘s life has something to do with what seems at the same time a fairy tale and a kind of bible curse.

From very humble beginnings, M.Bkonzi  had gone through hard times. But, M.Bkonzi had never been a man to dwell into past. He also was a man of faith. Over the years, even though he had been far away to see a light at the end of the tunnel, he remained stuck to his main goal which still today consists of feeding his family and gives a fine education to his children. He had made it.

Today, this Congo born entrepreneur spends plenty of time thanking  God for so many blessings. He thanks also people who have been helping him as time pass by. He is so much grateful with happiness lighting up his face when talking to Mom Carmelle, a Haitian lady who was there for him,he says.  M. Bkonzi’s journey was one worth a magazine story.  As Midas in the Greek legend, everything M. Bkonzi has been through  was transformed into gold. “ I have a lot of people working for me through rivers and dug lakes …Mom Carmelle, God has blessed me so much”, M.Bkonzi concludes.

Now he dreams of travelling overseas while embodying the other side of the African life. A respected man who continues to have a good life, M. Bkonzi goes to the best hotels in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, his  adoption country where the sun shines for him. His visitors are welcome in the  best restaurants,  as well as in the top  snowed Kilimanjaro and his family home. Life for him was never so beautiful as it is today. A Muslim in this so peaceful Tanzania, M. Bkonzi believes that his god is  a quiet and loving one who wants people on earth to be happy and grateful.
This still young entrepreneur is about  to lunch Overseas Dream, a joint ventures business along with his  Haitian partners,a social worker, Ms Marie C. Obas and a medical  doctor, Gaston Valcin.

A LIFE WITHOUT DREAMS IS A WASTE....( frantz Bataille-NY,USA APRIL 12, 2014)

A
s a girl who  had wished to be a dresser, my mother never made it, but in her late thirties,  the sun never sets upon her enterprises, as a result her smile lighted up and became touching. Therefore, I conclude  that  her heart was full of happiness. It was a time of peace, love and serenity at home. It  was magic!

.Anyway, I like the moment when dreamers try to sell their dreams to cool CEOs or boring managers. Look at  their sparkling eyes lighting up everything around. What a power !.

So, even though you do not achieve some set up goals, keep dreaming if you want  your landscape to be sunny, if you want your dreams to permeate around. A life without dream is a waste. Dreams help you chase the darkness around; dreams help you fight the time; they make you the children of God, and  even under a cloudy sky, you will be lucky enough to become the children of  light.

! QUE PASO, SANTO DOMINGO? THE HAITIAN-DOMINICAN QUESTION

! QUE PASO, SANTO DOMINGO ?

LOUIS' HANDS

FREEDOM  FOR RESTAVEK

I met 60-year-old Louis while visiting a batey in the Dominican Republic. He’s been cutting sugarcane for 40 years. His hands have the texture of an elephant’s hide. He was born in Haiti, but he’s no longer fluent in Creole, his mother tongue. He doesn’t have a nationality, for his birth was never registered; he’s undocumented. He works twelve hours a day, six days a week, and taxes are taken from his pay. He can barely feed his family. Because he is undocumented, he’s not eligible for retirement benefits, and his children, born on Dominican soil, are denied citizenship. Each time I consume anything sweet I remember Louis’ hands.

BOOK: : I AM MALALA

BACK FROM HELL

When she was fifteen, she almost paid the ultimate price. She was shot in the head at point-blank range while riding the bus home from school and few expected her to survive” wrote her co author

Published in 2013 by Little, Brown and Company, I AM MALALA  is a kind of fresh autobiography written with  a beautiful voice  by a 15 year old girl who survived her shooting, on Tuesday October 9, 2012.

Personal tone ,  novel –like work and forays in India distant and recent history,...I AM MALALA announces the coming Muslim world, a peaceful one. A dedicated daughter of a really father, Malala wishes education, freedom and achievement for all the boys and the girls the world over.

Listen:
When I stand in front on my window and look out, I see tall buildings, long roads full of vehicles moving in orderly lines, neat green hedges and lawns, and tidy pavements to walk on. I close my eyes and for a moment ti am back in my valley-the high –snow-topped mountains, green waving fields and fresh blue rivers-and my heart smiles when it looks at the people of Swat. My mind transports me back to my school and there I am reunited with my friends and teachers. I meet my best friend Moniba and we sit together, talking and joking as if I had never left.

Then, I remember I am in Birmingham, England.

The school was founded by my father before I was born, and on the wall above us KHUSHL SCHOOL was painted proudly in red and white letters.

I love my god. I thank my Allah. I talk to him all day. Peace in every home. every street, every village, every country, this is my dream. Education for every boy a and every girl in the world.

I am Malala. My world had changed but I have not.

RENOUVEAU CATHOLIQUE EN HAITI

CARDINAL CHILBY LANGLOIS
Here are the impressions of Ms Elisabeth Fantal who attended the ceremony of the new Haitian cardinal at the Vatican, Rome, Italy in the beginning of March 2014. Ms Fantal lives in Boston, Mass

Cardinal Langlois is a kind, humble, loving man with a very soft spot for the poor, and an advocate for peace. This is way before he ever knew he could become a cardinal. From when he started as a priest, became a bishop, we have not heard any unpleasant remark about him. All we hear is: he always live a simple life.
He is very concerned about our retired priest who has no one to turn to after giving their whole youth, their whole life in public service. As you might know yourself, a priest in a parish in Haiti is usually responsible for not only the church he is based at, but also feeding the  community, providing water, locomotion and even creating road and maintain them. The most common break they have is when they are sent to serve as missionary in different part of the world.

Most of them after their mission away here in America or elsewhere, returned home with no income, no healthcare benefits, no pension, or life savings. They are mostly waiting for a helping hand if it comes and when it comes to them. The only difference is the fact they are not waiting on street's corner, but it's not impossible. That is Cardinal Chibly Langlois' main concern.
Anyway, I have only spoken to him in three occasions, not for long, but I could see in him humility, genuine love for the poor, and a peace maker.

I have assisted to a couple of his sermon, once at St Ann in Somerville MA when he was a bishop, and at his first mass as a cardinal with the Haitian community in Rome Italy.

ELIE LESCOT: UNE SEULE SOURCE POURTANT DE FLEUVES POUR

FEMMES, MYSTICISME VODOU ET EPOPEE

L

A
